This is a quick little tool John showed me:
He has these sections of silvered acrylic mirror.
He's got the three sections held together with strapping tape so he can fold them together and stick them right inside the soundhole like this:
Then, unfolding the sections and dropping in a light, he has a perfect view all around the inside of the top:
And, if he drops some glue while working, it lands safely on the mirror, not on the back of the guitar. Pretty slick, eh?
