Cardboard with an upgrad
Chipboard Case

This "chipboard case" is made of heavy cardboard reinforced and protected by thin water-resistant vinyl coating:

As you can see, the hardware is minimal, with a lightweight handle.





The instrument usually fits a bit loosely, because these cases are available in a limited range of sizes, and hardly ever uniquely fitted:




Inside, there's no resilient padding, just a scratch resistant flocked coating:



Like the
gig bag, the chipboard case is fine for lightweight, careful travel around town.
