A prototype of a prototype
This delightful twelve fret Martin guitar is a special limited edition of their first style 00-45. It comes with all the basic design features of the original, except that synthetic material has replaced the original ivory binding and bridge, for obvious reasons. Down to the original style wooden "coffin" case, and inlaid pickguard, this is an admirable recreation of the original elegant instrument, although, unlike the 1902 guitar, this one was made for steel stringing.
