Well, here's a young guitar maker with some fresh views. A graduate of the Roberto-Venn School in Phoenix, Michihiro Matsuda currently resides in Oakland, California, where he's studying instrument building and design with Ervin Somogyi. He's really on fire to make an aesthetic statement in addition to building a fine sounding guitar. Just take a look at this effort. It's chock full of interesting design features! Among his most important influences, Michi counts Taku Sakashta, whose adventurous sense of mandolin design is featured in the Museum section of FRETS.COM.
