First Quality Bluegrass Sullivan "Greenbriar"
Luthiers recognize "First Quality" as one of the premier banjo parts suppliers in the country. What many of us didn't know is that Bill Sullivan and his First Quality crew have been manufacturing the necks and resonators for Gibson Mastertone banjos for the last dozen years or so. They do all the glue-up, rough shaping, inlay, binding, and fretting, leaving Gibson to complete the shaping, sanding, finishing and setup.
Now, there's a complete First Quality banjo, with Sullivan's name right on the peghead. Of course, it owes allegiance to the original Gibson Mastertone designs, but it is "first quality" throughout!
