String Break Angle
It's good for tone
The "break angle" is the angle the string makes as it bends over the bridge, saddle, or nut:
This guitar has a strong break angle.
The high E on this one has no break angle at all, and the others have very little break angle"
Here the saddle is low, but the strings go into little notches or "ramps" so that they have a good break angle over the saddle:
A high, good or "strong" break angle over a nut or saddle ensures that the string will make a tight contact for transmission of vibrating energy and tone.
