Simple Dolly and Hoist to Move Heavy Items
So far I've been lucky enough to make it through six decades without a back injury. Having relied mostly on luck until now, I think I'll try to work on good lifting technique. To that end, I have a simple 18" x 18" plywood dolly onto which I can wrestle heavy tools or boxes that are at or near floor level. Then I scoot my little scateboard under a block and tackle I have mounted in the ceiling. There, I can lift the box or tool to comfortable carrying height, or if it's really heavy, swing it onto the workbench or tool table.
